Musical superstar Lizzo has shocked fans earlier in the past week with a worrying post on Instagram that she feels “the world doesn’t want her in it” and finishing with the caption: “I quit.”
She went further in the following words “I’m getting tired of putting up with getting dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet”
“All I want is to make music and make people happy and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it.
“I’m constantly up against lies being told about me for clout & views … being the butt of the joke every single time because of how I look … my character being picked apart by people who don’t know me and disrespecting my name.”
“I didn’t sign up for this s**t – I QUIT,” she ended the message.
Lizzo’s comments section was flooded with messages of support from fans, friends and family asking her to be strong.
But she has now clarified her earlier post of “I QUIT” which shocked most of her fans and were worried about her quitting music.
Lizzo has posted a video on her Instagram about her profound love for music and would never quit music but instead channel her energy positively devoid of negative words or comments which tends to be louder.
Her career breakthrough came in 2019, in addition to her musical success Lizzo ventured with a voice performance in the animated film “UGLYDOLLS” and supporting part in the crime comedy drama film “Hustlers”.
And “Juice” The lead single from her third studio album, was released on January 4, 2019 by Atlantic Records. The next month she announced the title of the album, Cuz, I LOVE YOU which was eventually released on April 19,2019. After the release of her album, she performed at the Coachella Music Festival for the first time. With top popping singles charts and a sell out Australian tour she has gone on to prove herself but not too recently she was faced with some allegations from her former dancers last year of misconduct during tours.
Lizzo has denied the allegations saying they were false and unbelievable claiming they were sensationalised stories from former employees who had publicly admitted they were told their behaviour was unprofessional.
Lizzo’s music primarily incorporates an element of hip hop and also infused with genres such as soul, R&B and funk-pop. Her influences include Missy Elliot, Lauryn Hill and Beyonce. She is primarily a rapper but has incorporated singing into her debut record. She once stated in an interview in 2018 “I was always afraid of being a singer, but then when I heard Lauryn Hill, I was like, maybe I can do both she says, adding that her debut album was inspired by The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill and Hill’s ‘rapping, singing and being political influenced her. She has also cited Diana Ross as a fashion reference.
